{"id":307,"date":"2026-06-11T14:40:40","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T18:40:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.race4treasure.com\/?page_id=307"},"modified":"2026-06-11T14:40:40","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T18:40:40","slug":"blog-installation-for-godaddy-host-users","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.race4treasure.com\/?page_id=307","title":{"rendered":"Blog Installation for GoDaddy Host Users"},"content":{"rendered":"<section id=\"nocpanel\">\n<h1>Blog Installation for NON-cPanel Webhosts<\/h1>\n<p class=\"info\">If you&#8217;re still using non-cPanel webhosts like GoDaddy and vDeck based webhost then this section is for you.<\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t recommend these kind of webhosts to run WordPress based websites simply because of many issues like very low memory allotment, slow site loading, very hard to use file manager\/interface, and simply not WordPress friendly.<\/p>\n<p>With that said, please take note that we are not liable and responsible with any site issues that may arise due to webhost incompatibility. We encountered two groups of customers in this category. They are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>GoDaddy Host Users<\/li>\n<li>vDeck Based Webhost Users<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, if you belong to any of the above groups and have been tied with it because of a yearly payment arrangement and want to continue using your GoDaddy\/vDeck based webhost, then choose which guide is for you.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"gddy\">\n<h1>Blog Installation for GoDaddy Host Users<\/h1>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"step1\">\n<h3><strong>Part 1. Upload the Installation Files<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">1<\/span> On your computer, unzip the blog package you downloaded when you purchased it from Race4Treasure.com. You can use WinZip or WinRAR. Free WinZip version is usually pre-installed in most Windows based computers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/imgins\/p1_1.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">2<\/span> After unzipping, open the folder &#8220;<strong>Files To Upload<\/strong>&#8220;. This is where the actual &#8220;<em>installation files<\/em>&#8221; are placed.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/imgins\/p1_2.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">3<\/span> That folder should contain the &#8220;<strong>backup file<\/strong>&#8221; (usually in a <em>&#8220;backup-blogname-some78ue&#8221;<\/em> filename format), the &#8220;<strong>importbuddy script<\/strong>&#8221; and an index.php file. DO NOT unzip the backup file.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/imgins\/p1_2a.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">4<\/span> Upload both the &#8220;<strong>backup file<\/strong>&#8220;, the &#8220;<strong>importbuddy script<\/strong>&#8220;, and the index.php file. Use your favorite FTP software or use the built in cPanel uploader.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">5<\/span> Log in to our GoDaddy account<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> For the purpose of this guide, I bought a new domain called <strong>forexfans.org. <\/strong>We are going to install the forex blog package with this domain. I already pointed the domain from Namecheap to this webhost HostGator. I also added the domain using the <strong>Add On Domain<\/strong> tool.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">6<\/span> On your GoDaddy &#8220;<strong>Control Panel<\/strong>&#8221; click &#8220;<strong>FTP File Manager<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddyftp.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">7<\/span> Under the navigation menu, open the directory name where you should be uploading the installation files. In this case since we have other websites hosted on this GoDaddy account, we&#8217;ll click on the directory &#8220;<strong>forex<\/strong>&#8221; (pointed by red arrow).<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddydirectory.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">8<\/span> Click the &#8220;<strong>Upload File<\/strong>&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddyuploadfile.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">9<\/span> Click &#8220;<strong>Browse<\/strong>&#8221; button to select from your computer the <strong>backup file<\/strong> and the <strong>importbuddy.php<\/strong> then click &#8220;<strong>Upload<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddybrowse.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">10<\/span> You should now see the progress bar indicator.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddyindicator.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">11<\/span> When upload is completed, you are now ready to run the importbuddy script.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddyfilesupload.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p>The file uploading process may seem a lot of work but in reality it should only take you five to ten minutes (depending on your internet speed) when you get the hang of doing it.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Part 2. Create A MySQL Database<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">1<\/span> Go back to your Go Daddy account dashboard then click &#8220;<strong>My Account<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddyaccount.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">2<\/span> Find &#8220;<strong>WEB HOSTING<\/strong>&#8221; then click <strong>+<\/strong> sign to expand.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddywebhost.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">3<\/span> Click &#8220;<strong>Launch<\/strong>&#8221; button. A new window\/tab will open.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddylaunch.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">4<\/span> On the topmost part of your control panel (under Hosting tab), hover over the &#8220;<strong>Databases<\/strong>&#8221; button then click &#8220;<strong>MySQL<\/strong>&#8221; on the drop down menu.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddymysql.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">5<\/span> A popup window called &#8220;<strong>Manage Databases<\/strong>&#8221; will open. Click &#8220;<strong>Add<\/strong>&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddyadd.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">6<\/span> Fill in &#8220;<strong>Database and User Name<\/strong>&#8221; field as well as the &#8220;<strong>New Password<\/strong>&#8221; field.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddyfilldata.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong>Tip<\/strong>: Your database name should be something that will allow you to recognize it from other databases especially if you have already created or planning to create more databases under the same webhost account. For example: <strong>forexd8IejMfe <\/strong> as shown above.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">7<\/span> Click &#8220;<strong>OK<\/strong>&#8221; button (see screenshot above).<\/p>\n<p>You should now be brought back to the &#8220;<strong>Manage Databases<\/strong>&#8221; window where you will see the newly created database with a <strong><em>Pending Setup<\/em><\/strong> status. Try reloading the page within 3 or 5 minutes as there&#8217;s a short delay before the database is created.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">8<\/span> If database is successfully Setup, click &#8220;<strong>Actions<\/strong>&#8221; and then click &#8220;<strong>Details<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddysetup.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">9<\/span> Another popup window called &#8220;<strong>Database Details<\/strong>&#8221; will open.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddydetails.png\" \/><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><span class=\"numbre\">10<\/span> Now copy and save the your new database info into a notepad. You will be using this when installing your blog package on Part 3.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For this example your database detail should be:<br \/>\n<strong>MySQL Serve<\/strong>r: forexd8IejMfe.db.4921466737.hostedresource.com<br \/>\n<strong>Database Name<\/strong>: forexd8IejMfe<br \/>\n<strong>Database Username<\/strong>: forexd8IejMfe<br \/>\n<strong>Password<\/strong>: B@ie!7Ae5KR3@e<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it. You have successfully created a database for your new blog.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<h3><strong>Part 3. Run Installation Script<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">1<\/span> Open the &#8220;<strong>Installation Notes<\/strong>&#8221; you created in Part 2 (MySQL creation).<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/imgins\/p3_1.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">2<\/span> On your favorite browser, copy the installation URL to the address bar then hit &#8220;<strong>Enter<\/strong>&#8221; key on your computer keyboard.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/imgins\/p3_2.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">3<\/span> Enter Importbuddy password then click <strong>Authenticate<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/imgins\/p3_3.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong>NOTE<\/strong>: The importbuddy password is already included with the &#8220;<strong>Installation Notes<\/strong>&#8221; file.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">4<\/span> Now, on &#8220;<strong>Step 1: Select Backup to Restore<\/strong>&#8220;, click &#8220;<strong>Restore Backup&#8221;<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/imgins\/p3_4.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">5<\/span> Next, on &#8220;<strong>Step 3: Database Settings<\/strong>&#8220;, manually enter your database settings.<\/p>\n<p>For &#8220;<strong>Database Server<\/strong>&#8221; and &#8220;<strong>Database Prefix<\/strong>&#8221; just click the arrow to copy setting from old server to new server.<\/p>\n<p>So from:<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/imgins\/p3_5.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p>To this:<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/imgins\/p3_5a.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p>For Database Name, Database User, and Database Password just copy and paste the info from the notepad list you created in Part 2 (MySQL creation).<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/imgins\/p3_5b.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">6<\/span> Click &#8220;<strong>Next Step<\/strong>&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/imgins\/p3_6.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">7<\/span> On &#8220;<strong>Step 5: Site URL Settings<\/strong>&#8220;, review your new URL (WordPress address) then simply click &#8220;<strong>Next Step<\/strong>&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/imgins\/p3_7.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">8<\/span> On &#8220;<strong>Step 6: Verify Site and Finish<\/strong>&#8220;, click your blog url and check if site is working.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/imgins\/p3_8.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"pmniches\"><span class=\"numbre\">9<\/span> If site is working with no error\/s, click &#8220;<strong>Finish Cleanup<\/strong>&#8221; to delete installation files and other mess.<\/p>\n<h3>Internal Server Error<\/h3>\n<p>Should you encounter an error with mesage &#8220;<strong>Internal Server Error<\/strong>&#8221; but DO NOT panic. This is where GoDaddy fails. It doesn&#8217;t support the <em>anti-hacking protection codes<\/em> that is included in the .htaccess file.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddyerror.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Follow below guide to resolve the &#8220;<strong>Internal Server Error<\/strong>&#8221; error.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> This is a crucial step. You need to open the <strong>.htacces<\/strong> file and delete the protection codes inside it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> Go to the <strong>FTP Manager<\/strong> page of your <strong>GoDaddy Control Panel<\/strong> and open the directory where files of your newly installed blog is uploaded.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddyhtopen.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> Check <strong>.htacces<\/strong> then click <strong>Edit<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddyedit.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong>4. <\/strong>Delete all codes just below the line &#8220;<strong># END WordPress<\/strong>&#8220;. See screenshow below:<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddyhtedit.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong>5. <\/strong>Click the &#8220;<strong>Save<\/strong>&#8221; icon to save your newly edited .htaccess.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgli\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.premadeniches.com\/view\/docs\/images\/gdaddysave.png\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong>6. <\/strong>Now, view your site again.
